Reaction from pitch

We presented our pitch to our media class so that we could get their feedback to make our trailer as best as it could be. They had very positive thoughts about it and liked the unconventional idea of possibly having a woman assassin. However, they did suggest that we watched the film 'Salt' as they felt that this film could assist with the construction of our trailer.

Focused Analysis - Locations

i looked at a trailer of 'Shutter Island' and the location that it is set. the first thing you find out from the trailer is that it is set on an island, this makes the audience feel isolated from any help if they would need it on the island and sets up a thriller/horror genre. you then find out that the only thing that is on the island is a mental institution for the criminally insane. from this information alone you know that the film will be a thriller and that it will be a very scary and tense because if anything bad was to happen they would be isolated on the island. because of this it would make the audience feel as if they are isolated as well and stuck on that island which is what will attract the horror and thriller audience to this film.

Focused Analysis - Mise-en-scene

i watched the trailer from the film 'Green Zone' and in this film the mise-en-scene give away a big part of what genre the film is in the trailer. near the start of the trailer there are many guns going off and this shows us that there is much action in the film. it also lets people know early that this is a action film. there are also many military cars and helicopters which shows that the action is properly related to a war that is going on. this can show the audience what type of film that this is going to be which means this trailer can target its audience very well.

Focused Analysis - Sound

i looked at the quantum of solace trailer, and at the start of the trailer the music is very tense, this suits the genre of a thriller. it starts with people talking about disturbing issues they have and the more and more they talk the more the music is dramatic, especially when there are flashbacks from there memory there is a big bang which can make the audience feel very tense. but when the trailer starts to show lots of action the music changes and is very fast and this suits the pace of the editing in the trailer. it also suits the action genre very well and they both compliment each other well.

Focused analysis - Characters

i have looked closley at the trailer of the bourne ultimatem, and we find out through captions, that the main charector who is jason bourne has lost every thing he loves and he has even lost his own identity and that he wants revenge on those who have done this to him, his charector alone sets up the genre of a action because we know that he will do anything for revenge. we then find out through this trailer that these people have attempterd to kill him many times before and failed and that he is a very skilled warrior and very evasive.
